Seat Pleasant Police Department K-9 Amber Led Officers to a Missing Person with Dementia

On October 22, 2023, approximately 9:00 a.m., K-9 Amber and her handler Sergeant Matthews with the Seat Pleasant Police Department responded to the 14000 block of Barkham Ct. Laurel, Maryland 20707 to assist Prince George’s County Police (PGPD) in search for a missing 72-year-old male with dementia. When K-9 Amber arrived on scene, she collected the missing person’s scent from two shirts and a pillow. Officers were able to assist the elderly male out of the drain, and he was returned home safely without injuries.
